In 1977, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their 26th game in a row to set the current NFL record for consecutive games without a win.

In 1971, the Tennessee Volunteers snapped Penn State's 15-game winning streak thanks to Bobby Majors and 6 Nittany Lion turnovers.

In 1988, Oklahoma State beat Texas Tech in a shootout in Tokyo. Sanders won the Heisman earlier in the day and then rolled up 257 yards rushing and over 300 all-purpose yards and 4 touchdowns against the Red Raiders in a 45-41 win.

In 1960, Baltimore's Johnny Unitas threw a TD pass for the 47th straight game to set an NFL record that stood for more than 50 years. But Detroit scored on the final play of the game to win it.

In 1961, Floyd Patterson defended his heavyweight title against a less than impressive challenger.
