In 1946, St. Louis Cardinal Enos Slaughter's 'Mad Dash' scored the winning run to win the World Series.

In 1912, the Boston Red Sox biggest supporting group, 'The Royal Rooters,' had their usual seats sold before they got to the game. They rioted, delaying the game, leading to a bad first inning for the Sox and a loss.
